A 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drophead CoupŽ connected with the infamous 1963 Profumo Affair will be put up for auction.
The car belonged to osteopathic physician and socialite Dr Stephen Ward.
Dr Ward introduced John Profumo, the Conservative MP and Secretary of State for War, to the nightclub dancer and model Christine Keeler.
Profumo then embarked on an affair with Keeler, who at the time was also allegedly in a relationship with the Soviet naval attachŽ Yevgeny Ivanov.
The Minister resigned from Parliament after news of the scandal emerged, while Ward was prosecuted for living off the earnings of prostitution.
Dr Ward committed suicide in his London flat just before he was sentenced in August 1963.
"Few Jaguars can boast such a fascinating ownership record and one that seemingly defined the era when it was first driven," said Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions.
"Few cars offered at auction have such an amazing connection to such important events in British political history."
The car, which has the registration plate WLY 150, is finished in Old English White and comes with a dark red leather interior.
It will go under the hammer as part of Silverstone Auctions' sale at Race Retro on 22 and 23 February.
