A senior Surrey Police officer is to stand trial accused of abusing his position to avoid a speeding fine.
Superintendent Jonathan Johncox, 46, will go on trial at Winchester Crown Court for a charge of wilful misconduct in office between June 13 and July 18, 2008.
The case follows an inquiry into the granting of exemption for traffic offences, the Independent Police Complaints Commission said.
Johncox has been suspended from his position with Surrey Police following the accusations.
