Pogues top Christmas driving chart

Motorists have revealed their favourite Christmas driving song to be The Pogues 1987 hit Fairytale of New York.

A survey by One Poll questioned 3,000 drivers to compile the list of the nation's best songs to sing-a-long to when behind the wheel during the festive period.

The Top 10 is:

1. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl

2. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday - Wizzard

3. Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade

4. Driving Home for Christmas - Chris Rea

5. Do They Know its Christmas - Band Aid

6. Last Christmas - Wham

7. All I Want for Christmas - Mariah Carey

8. Happy Xmas (War is Over) - John & Yoko And The Plastic Ono Band

9. Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney

10. Baby, It's Cold Outside - Tom Jones & Cerys Matthews

The season to be jolly also sees 7% of motorists decorating their cars with tinsel and baubles, but drivers should be prepared for the not-so fun side of winter driving and ensure they have up-to-datebreakdown cover andinsurance policy.
