An older motorist ended up in a Devon river after she smashed through the wall of her garage in her blue Vauxhall Corsa by mistake, police have said.
The woman - who is believed to be in her 70s - was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth to be treated for leg injuries and the effects of cold following the accident in Chillaton. She is now said to be in a stable condition.
Devon and Cornwall Police found the woman in the river after she escaped from the car following the three-metre plunge.
It is thought that she mistakenly hit the accelerator and drove through the back wall of the garage.
Officers put local diversions in place at the scene for two hours.
