Passat has touch of Executive style

Volkswagen is freshening up its Passat range with two new trims.

Out go the Highline, Sport and R-Line trims and in come the Executive and Executive Style.

Sitting above the S and BlueMotion versions in the line-up, the Executive features chrome exterior trim and 17-inch Michigan alloy wheels.

Like the entry-level S, the Executive has a DAB radio, MDI multi-device system with USB, and iPhone and Bluetooth connectivity, but the Executive also boasts an RNS 315 touchscreen sat-nav and a Vienna leather multifunction steering wheel and gear lever. Heated front seats provide extra comfort on cold winter mornings.

The Standard 2Zone climate control allows for easy temperature changes and the Executive also has automatic lights and wipers, a rear-view mirror that dims automatically, cruise control and rear parking sensors.

Replacing the Highline trim in the line-up, the Executive costs £200 more but comes with an extra £1,700 worth of add-ons. Its prices start at £20,235.

On top of the equipment on offer in the Executive, the Executive Style has sports suspension, 18-inch Kansas alloy wheels, front fog lamps, bi-zenon headlights and a tinted rear window.

The extra equipment is worth £2,000 but it costs £995 more than an Executive Passat.
