Nissan has given one of Britain's most popular sport utility vehicles (SUVs) a makeover.
The latest generation Qashqai has been unveiled and will be available in the UK from next February.
Nissan claims it has reinvented its crossover model so that low fuel consumption and emissions now feature, as well as the latest technology to help prevent accidents andbreakdowns . Intelligent safety features include a lane departure warning system, traffic sign recognition and high beam assist.
Alongside sub-100g/CO2 models will be both front and all-wheel drive variants, and all options have benefited from substantial weight reduction.
Increased luggage storage and a bigger focus on driving dynamics are also among the promised improvements.
Aimed at accommodating the needs and tastes of European buyers, the Qashqai has been designed and developed in Europe. It will become the key vehicle being built at Nissan's Sunderland plant, where the Juke, Leaf and Note are also made.
