Nissan gets used to Qashqai awards

Nissan's famous Qashqai crossover has been named as the 'Used Car of the Year', by used-car pricing expert CAP.

The compact SUV built in Washington, Tyne and Wear, has gained the top most position for the second time in a row.

The car has been designed by British workers in Paddington, London, and engineers in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.

A panel of judges, comprised of used-car market and vehicle valuation experts from CAP, said: "The Nissan Qashqai has created an entirely new 'crossover' sector and prompted other manufacturers to follow by marrying the practicality of a people carrier with the looks of a quality 4x4.

"By achieving this in a package that also offers economy, handling, strong build quality and reliability the Qashqai has become the perfect used car for our time."

Motorists looking to buy used luxury cars must first ensure they have a comprehensivecar insurance policy.
