Nick Cave and sons unhurt in crash

Nick Cave and his twin sons escaped unhurt after the rock singer drove his Jaguar into a speed camera and roadside barrier in East Sussex.

The crash happened when Cave, 53, was driving his Jaguar saloon on the night of December 7, sources said.

Sussex Police said the incident took place on the eastbound carriageway at Kingsway in Hove, East Sussex, close to where Australian-born Cave lives.

The authorities said in a statement: "Police were called to Kingsway at 7pm on Tuesday December 7, after a Jaguar saloon car driven by a 53-year old Hove man had collided with a speed camera and roadside barrier on the eastbound carriageway.

"The man and his two 10-year-old sons who were in the car were unhurt. No other vehicles or people were involved.

"The camera belongs to the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, not the police, and the railings belong to the local highway authority.

"Both agencies were informed. Nobody has been arrested but police inquiries are continuing."
