New Jensen to be built in Britain

Specialist automotive group CPP Global Holdings has announced that the revived version of classic Jensen Interceptor sports car will be manufactured at a former motor plant in the UK.

The company said it will develop and build the vehicle at Jaguar's former Browns Lane site in Coventry.

Set to be unveiled in late 2012, the new Jensen will be ready to be delivered to customers in 2014.

The four-seat original Jensen Interceptor was built between 1966 and 1976.

CPP was appointed by the owners of the Jensen name, Healey Sports Cars Switzerland (HSCS) Ltd, to create a successor to the original Interceptor.

A team of Coventry-based design consultants employed by HSCS has completed the design of the new Interceptor, which CPP says "has already gained significant customer interest."
