Sales of new cars in 2014 hit the highest annual total in a decade.
The figures for last year reach over 2.47 million - the highest since 2004 when more than 2.5 million new vehicles were shifted.
The high volume of sales suggests there will be plenty of drivers in the market for buying a car heading into 2015. And the news will be a relief to UK car makers, who have endured some tough times in recent years with new registrations dipping below the 2 million mark in both 2009 and 2011.
Sales have been steadily climbing now for almost three years, with November 2014 being the 33rd months in a row that new registrations have increased.
And sales for the first 11 months of last year topped 2.31 million, which was 9.4% higher than the total over the same period of time in 2013.
