Road safety charity Brake's Fleet Safety Forum has teamed up with Colas Ltd to launch a new Pledge2DriveSafely campaign, aimed at reducing the number of accidents involving at-work drivers.
Figures show that accidents involving motorists driving for work claimed nearly 540 lives last year. This works at more than 10 people a week.
In an effort to tackle the number of road accident deaths, the road safety campaigners are urging people who are driving for a living to pay strict attention to the road and make all efforts to ensure their own as well as other road users' safety.
Fleet and driver training managers are being invited to attend Pledge2DriveSafely workshops, sponsored by Colas Ltd.
These sessions are aimed at providing effective and engaging safe driving messages, which can then be conveyed to at-work drivers.
The sessions, which will be delivered by experienced and qualified trainers at various places in the UK throughout the year, will show participants how to run discussion-based workshops on six core principals of safe driving.
