Cadillac looks set for a renewed effort to crack the British market after it unveiled its latest model, the ATS, complete with right hand drive.
The American automotive giant previewed the new ATS vehicle to a select audience in Detroit ahead of the 2012 North American International Auto Show.
The compact saloon boasts a new chassis, a choice of rear-wheel or four wheel drive and either a 3.6-litre V6 petrol or a diesel, with the petrol model turbocharged up to 270 horsepower. Cadillac sources indicate that the firm expects the car to challenge the existing saloon class, currently led by the BMW 3 Series, the Audi A4 and the Mercedes C-Class.
Cadillac is also keen to promote the weight savings made on the car due to aluminium and magnesium components, which end up giving the model a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution.
