Motorists hit jackpot in euro spill

A security truck carrying 2.5 million euros (£2 million) overturned on a motorway near Foggio in Southern Italy, shedding millions of coins on to the road.

The rear door of the truck - which was on its way to local banks in Bari from the Italian mint in Cesena - burst open in the accident, spilling millions of one and two euro coins.

The incident saw motorists hitting their brakes and helping themselves to over 10,000 euros (£8,329) before police arrived and closed the highway.
