Morgan has unveiled the concept of two prototype ground-breaking electric sports cars.
The traditional sports car maker's planned models will have manual gearboxes for maximum driver involvement.
The Morgan +E programme aims to deliver the two engineering concept vehicles by next year.
The models will be based on Aero SuperSports chassis and the normal BMW V8 will be replaced by a drivetrain from electric pioneers Zytek, which already supplies products to the US market.
A 94bhp unit motor, which has a huge performance potential, is set to be used in the new Morgans.
The prototype's heavy batteries will be integrated into the aluminium structure of the vehicles. The concept is about evenly and deliberately spreading the weight around the car.
"This is an exciting investigation into the potential for a zero-emissions Morgan with near supercar performance," said Morgan's operations director, Steve Morris.
