A property developer who is the owner of a collection of military vehicles worth more than £1 million has decided to sell-up at an auction.
Brian Boys, chairman of development and letting firm B&E Boys Ltd, will put his vehicles - the largest private collection in the UK - up for sale next month.
They are being sold on his behalf by the Manchester office of property consultants Sanderson Weatherall.
Mr Boys plans to keep some of his favourites among the 150 wheeled and tracked vehicles, but the rest are up for grabs. They are expected to sell for anything up to £100,000 each.
Mr Boys said he started collecting as a boy, with Dinky Toys, and his passion continued from there. After two years in the Army with the Royal Military Police between 1958 and 1960, he continued collecting.
He regularly attends military fairs and amassed his collection from such events and other private collectors worldwide. Two of his vehicles have even had their own starring roles in the movies, appearing in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan.
The auction is being held on June 30, from 1pm, at St Mary's Chambers Conference and Function Centre, in Rawtenstall, Rossendale, and also online.
