MG Motor has unveiled an astonishing new, small SUV concept car at the Beijing Motor Show in China.
The Icon concept combines the sleek look of a Mini or the Alfa Romeo 4C, with stylish features taken from golden oldies like the MGA and MGB GT.
With SUV's in demand in the Far East, the Chinese-owned company aims to steal a march on its rivals by tapping into the potentially huge market.
The sporty vehicle was created by Brit Anthony Williams-Kenny and his MG Global Design Team, with the aim of combining several successful MG designs from the past with a modern SUV blueprint.
Williams-Kenny said: "The MG brand has a unique set of values and heritage and allows us to offer individual design values to our products.
"The MG Icon represents our vision of a modern MG and we feel that the small SUV canvas demonstrates MG's capacity for progressive design with respect for its long heritage.
"The MG Icon clearly demonstrates a progressive and soulful British spirit and has a lithe and powerful stance - its proportion harmonised by feature lines interpreted from MG's iconic greats."
