The new Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid has been named the Best Overall Company Car for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in 2012.
The German saloon also won the award for Best Company Car for SME Directors at the annual Business Car Manager SME Company Car of the Year Awards 2012, which are aimed at highlighting the best cars and car support programmes for smaller firms.
The E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid boasts an advanced diesel-electric hybrid system that enables electric-only driving.
"The new Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid brings a new dynamic to the SME Company Car Market," said Ralph Morton, editor of Business Car Manager.
"There's all the prestige of the three-pointed star, incredible shove-you-down-the-road performance, plenty of space, yet a benefit-in-kind company car tax rating that would make the taxman wince. It was a clear winner with all our judges."
The chief executive of the Forum of Private Business, Phil Orford, chaired the expert judging panel of leading industry figures and the head of fleet for Mercedes-Benz UK, Nick Andrews, says the accolades are important to the manufacturer.
"This is a fantastic win for our first diesel-electric vehicle," he said.
