Mazda has announced plans to produce a luxury special edition of its MX-5 roadster which will be limited to only 800 vehicles.
The new "Venture Edition" will be produced as 550 2.0-litre hard-top models and 250 1.8-litre soft-tops, according to the manufacturer.
Based on the existing 1.8i SE and 2.0i SportTech models, the Venture will include luxury additions such as a Sanyo TomTom satnav, heated brown leather seats, climate control and cruise control - the first time the system has ever been included in a factory-made 1.8-litre MX-5.
The hard-top can be purchased for £22,285, while the soft-top costs from £18,995, with interest-free deals over three years offered if buyers can give a 50% deposit. As well as the traditional metropolitan grey mica paint, two colours unique to the limited run will also be available - radiant ebony mica and crystal white pearlescent.
Potential buyers will be interested to learn that the main difference between the cars, apart from roof and engine size, is that the 2.0-litre version has a limited-slip differential to provide more traction out of tight corners.
