Japanese carmaker Mazda is set to unveil its new low-carbon CX-5 compact SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
The model is the first to feature Mazda'a new Skyactiv eco-friendly technology.
It will also be the first production model to showcase the car manufacturer's new design concept called "Kodo", or 'Soul of Motion'.
All the next generation of Mazda cars will have the new design theme, which features a new frontal treatment with a more prominent 'family face'.
The CX-5's engine line-up includes the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engine and SKYACTIV-D 2.2-litre diesel engine, available in standard and high power versions.
The diesel version combined with a new SkyActiv manual gearbox and 'i-stop', Mazda's engine stop and start technology, offers CO2 emissions under 120g/km.
After its unveiling in Frankfurt in September, the CX-5 will be available for customers only in 2012.
