Mazda is targeting the large fleet market with its new five-door "Business Line" hatchback model.
The new Mazda 6 comes with a host of efficiency and emissions features designed to make it attractive for business customers.
Equipped with a 2.2-litre diesel engine, the car produces 138g of CO2 per km which puts it in the 20% road tax band for 2011/12.
Its resale estimate by CAP is also expected to be a big draw. The used car expert believes the Mazda 6 Business Line will fetch 34% of its current P11D value of £18,130 at the standard three-year/60,000-mile mark.
The first of the new Mazda 6 cars will be arriving towards the end of summer with an on-road price of £18,300 and the manufacturer expects to sell around 500 units this year.
At the top end the Business Line model boasts accessories including 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth and Sanyo-branded TomTom sat-nav system.
The three available colours - Black Mica, Sunlight Silver Metallic and Stormy Blue Mica - are based on the most popular choices among fleet drivers.
