Two new models have been added to the Mazda 2 line-up in the UK, while significant improvements have been made across the range.
An automatic model featuring a 1.5-litre engine and four-speed transmission, and the sporty 'Tamura' are the latest additions to the Mazda 2 family, which now consists of nine three-door and five-door hatchbacks.
It offers a choice of three petrol engines and one diesel variant, as wells as four equipment levels for prices starting from £9,995 on the road.
Upgrades to the range include improved performance, revamped interiors for better comfort and stylish, redesigned exteriors.
A stronger bodyshell and improved suspension mean better ride quality and overall handling, while changes to the exterior include a larger five-point grille, a bigger badge and new front fog lamp bezels.
Inside, finishes are revised for a higher quality feel throughout the cabin. Included is a newly designed instrument panel, new seat patterns and seat fabric colours, meter panel with blackout finish dials and chrome rings, while the centre stack is finished in piano black.
For the upgraded Mazda 2's powertrain line-up, the three petrol engines have been re-tuned to Euro Stage 5 whilst the five-speed manual transmission's gearing has been revised to save fuel and reduce emissions.
Equipment levels on the Mazda 2 range have always been generous for a supermini. Now with the upgraded line-up, every model comes with remote central locking, air-conditioning, electric front windows, electric door mirrors, a piano black centre stack, CD radio with Auxiliary jack and a Thatcham Category 1 alarm.
Prices for the regular Mazda2 range start at £9,995, with TS2 models beginning at £10,820, the new Tamura at £11,520 and Sport models from £12,630.
