Maserati has unveiled its all-new 'sport luxury SUV' - the Kubang - at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The manufacturer said that current SUVs do not seem to offer an 'uplifting driving pleasure' and 'luxury atmosphere', and this was why Maserati set out to build the new Kubang.
Maserati is said to have drawn inspiration from its sister firm, Jeep, for the manufacturing of the new SUV.
The Kubang will be equipped with Maserati engines, suspension and brakes, the manufacturer said.
A former engine chief of the Ferrari Formula One racing team is leading a group of engineers to design new-generation high-tech Maserati proprietary engines in Italy, which will be used to power the new Kubang.
