The petrol-electric powertrain of the Lexus RX450h hybrid SUV is to take centre stage at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
The manufacturer reports that improved performance and economy compared with the outgoing RX400h model have brought carbon emissions below those of rival diesel models.
Also present at the event will be the company's IS 250C, which is due to go on sale in the summer, with its all-aluminium folding roof that can be lowered in just 20 seconds.
It shares the 205bhp, 2.5-litre V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission found in the IS 250 sports saloon, while emphasising style, handling and the highest crash safety standards.
