Kia wins award for used-car scheme

Kia has won a prestigious award for a scheme that offers customers one of the industry's best warranty deals for a used car.

Auto Express gave its Used Car Scheme of the Year honour to a programme that gives buyers of approved Kia vehicles the same seven-year warranty as a brand new car.

The Approved Used Car Scheme allows the original warranty to be fully transferred to the new buyer, with the manufacturer then resetting it again to a seven-year period.

"It means that a Kia could be under warranty for some eight and a half years in total," said the company's head of vehicle re-marketing, John Hargreaves.

For used Kia buyers, the deal promises to free up money which can be invested in a comprehensivecar insurance cover.

The initiative goes above and beyond regular schemes for second-hand cars, said the magazine praising Kia for the many customer benefits it provided.

"When we launched our Approved Used Car Scheme we set out to ensure it really did represent the best possible deal for customers so we're obviously very proud that this been recognised by Auto Express with this award," said Mr Hargreaves.
