The first performance details for the brand new cee'd and pro_cee'd GT models have been unveiled by Kia.
The Korean car manufacturer has revealed that both the five and three-door versions will be capable of doing 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds thanks to a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 201bhp.
That is a step up from the old Hyundai Veloster Turbo. The new cars will also boast 195lb.ft of torque, have a six-speed manual gearbox and offer "significant developments to the chassis and suspension systems".
A concept drawing shows that styling will not be neglected as "jewel-like" LED daytime running lights, more aggressive grilles and lamp clusters, deeper bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers and special paint finishes are included.
And, although no details of prices have been confirmed as of yet, Kia is keen to make sure the new GT models represent value for money and offer performance and handling as well as striking looks.
