The Isle of Skye has beaten sunny locations like Sicily and Hvar in Croatia to become one of the top island holiday getaways in Europe.
The Conde Nast Traveller's Readers' Choice Awards placed the Misty Isle eighth in the Top 10 European Islands category.
Three Scottish golf hotels made it to the Top 20 European Resorts category. These were The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, the Turnberry Resort and the Gleneagles hotel.
The third best leisure hotel in the UK went to the Ardanaiseig Hotel by Loch Awe, which got the highest rating for a hotel in Scotland. The same hotel also featured in the World's Overall Travel Top 100 list.
The poll was carried out by the US-based magazine by votes from more than 25,000 people. The results will be out in the November issue of the magazine.
