Honda is set to launch its new Civic at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
The Japanese manufacturer's new family car has been designed exclusively for Europe and the firm said that the vehicle has been extensively tested on the continent's roads.
Significant changes have been made in the redesigned 2012 Civic hatch for improved quality and comfort.
It features bigger cabin and boot space, improved suspension engineering and body control and enhanced motorway speeds.
The ninth generation Civic hatchback will offer "stand-out looks", according to the firm.
All the details of the new model, which hasn't been seen without a disguise yet, will be revealed at the motor show to be held in September.
The new Civic will be available in the UK in 2012.
