Classic and sports car auction house Historics at Brooklands has reported its second car sale event was a success, with nearly half of the vehicles being sold.
The firm said that out of the 72 vehicles up for sale at the event, 48% were auctioned off for a total of just under £1,000,000.
Some key models that were sold included a 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 litre Cabriolet - one of only 55 right-hand drive models ever built - which made £80,460.
Other vehicles auctioned off include a 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Mk 1 Saloon, which sold for £78,225, and a 1956 Jaguar XK140 Fixedhead Coupe Competition that collected £46,935.
Edward Bridger-Stille, auction director at Historics, said: "We're hugely encouraged by the growing number of people attracted to our auctions at Brooklands, and delighted we were able to deliver such a varied and exciting line-up of cars.
"The market is hugely competitive at the moment, which in part was reflected in the number of lots that narrowly failed to reach their reserves. With continued post-sale activity, we're also now looking forward to our two December sales and are well advanced in consigning some exceptional cars."
