A new book and smartphone app will point motorists in the right direction for the classiest eateries in Britain when released next month.
Drivers keen to sample the best food the country has to offer can find details of every Michelin-awarded restaurant in its 2014 Guide to Great Britain & Ireland. Combined with ajourney planner the guide can help drivers plot fantastic culinary adventures across the UK.
Its experts rate restaurants for their food, service and value and award the famous stars for excellent cuisine. The latest edition adds 15 new one-star entries and two others that have been upgraded to two stars.
Michelin also awards Bib Gourmands to restaurants that serve excellent three course meals for under £28. There are 147 'Bibs' in the UK, with 27 new inclusions in this year's guide.
Its editor, Rebecca Burr, said there are some wonderful bed and breakfasts, pubs and hotels as well as the best restaurants in the country in the latest edition and she says the Michelin Guide has never presented such a diverse selection of the best places to eat.
The 2014 Michelin Guide to Great Britain & Ireland book costs £15.99 and the £5.99 Apple app will be available from October 4.
