The recent spring sunshine has seen demand for convertible car hires rise dramatically, according to one car rental provider.
Sixt has reported that requests for convertibles have nearly quadrupled in the last seven days, rising 370%. The hire company has predicted that continued warm weather could lead to demand rising even higher over the Easter and Bank Holiday periods.
Sixt has revealed that the most popular model so far this year has been the Mercedes E-Class.
Similarly, the Volkswagen Eos and Mercedes SLK have proven popular as drivers chose to enjoy the British sunshine in German convertibles.
Paul McLoughlin, managing director of Sixt UK, said customers have responded to the unseasonably good weather by choosing to hire out soft-top convertibles.
He said: "With the recent spate of glorious weather, we've seen requests for convertibles increase nearly four-fold for the Easter period."
