A sports car first owned by football legend George Best is to go under the auction hammer.
The Jaguar V12 E-Type is expected to sell for up to £60,000, with the successful bidder buying a piece of genuine footballing history.
This was the car used by the controversial playboy soccer star when he drove off from Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium following a famous showdown with manager Tommy Docherty.
Best, who died in 2005 aged 59, bought the car in 1971 and owned it until 1974, the year he quit Manchester United.
It is now due to go under the hammer at the H&H Classics auction at Duxford, Oxfordshire, on October 14.
Less than 8,000 of the Series II Roadster V12s were produced with the car dubbed the "most beautiful" ever made by Italian motor racing legend Enzo Ferrari.
The powerful sports car has a top speed of 150mph and could hit 60mph from a standing start in just 6.8 seconds.
Damian Jones, sales director at H&H, admits that having such a legendary car on the firm's books has even left him thinking about reaching for his chequebook.
Following his Old Trafford exit, Best - once described by Brazil legend Pele as the world's greatest player - went on to play for a string of clubs around the world, including Fulham, Los Angeles Aztecs and San Jose Earthquakes. His final appearances in Britain were for Bournemouth in 1983.
