Proton car owners are being offered the opportunity to take their vehicles for a 'winter check', free of cost, until February 29, 2012.
Motorists who are interested in taking advantage of the latest offer can take their cars to any of the manufacturer's 75 official dealerships in the UK.
Under the offer, proton cars will undergo checks for antifreeze content and coolant level, engine oil level, brake fluid and performance, tyre condition, tread depth and pressures, power steering fluid level and the battery condition.
Checks will also be carried out to analyse washer bottle contents and level, washer jet operation, wiper arms and blades condition and operation, and operation of external lights.
Cars will also undergo a visual check for coolant leaks.
Motorists booking a winter check also stand a chance of winning John Lewis vouchers worth £200 by taking part in a prize draw.
Car owners should also make sure that they have taken out a goodbreakdown cover.
Simon Park, general manager of sales and marketing for Proton Cars (UK) Ltd, said: "The safety of our customers is paramount year in, year out, but it's particularly important to ensure cars are winter-ready - especially given the hard winters we've had in the last couple of years.
"We would encourage all Proton owners to take advantage of the free winter check, so we can help them feel confident that their car is suitable for driving in wintry conditions."
