The Ford Transit Custom has become the first vehicle to win the What Van? award's Van of the Year prize two years in a row.
The publication said the van deserved to win the accolade for two consecutive years because of its successful combination of interior quality, equipment, sales success and innovation.
Paul Barker, What Van? editor, said: "It was a difficult decision to break with tradition and give our biggest award to a van that was victorious the previous year, but the Transit Custom's impact on the light commercial vehicle market means the success is warranted.
"It's been a deservedly successful first year for the Custom, a vehicle that has moved the sector on in a whole series of ways."
Ford also won two other awards at the London ceremony - one in the light van category for its Fiesta Van, and one in the best pick-up category for its Ranger model.
Mercedes Benz won two prizes, the Safety Award and the large van prize for its Sprinter, while VW won for Best Website and also took home the used Van of the Year title for its Transporter.
