The iconic design, low running costs and fun-to-drive personality of the Ford Ka has led to more than half a million models being sold in the UK, it has been announced.
The new Ka, the second version of the model which is driven by Bond girl Olga Kurylenko in the movie "Quantum of Solace", is leading its market segment with a 14% share.
Since its launch in January this year, more than 11,000 new Ka models have been sold.
Black and Dive (blue) are the best-selling colours, while the best-selling model is the Zetec.
Mark Simpson, marketing director for Ford of Britain, said: "There were eight competitors in the Ka's market segment in 1996 - now there are 26 rivals.
"Offering low ownership costs and cheeky distinctive styling, the Ka has maintained its strong appeal over the years and remains at the top of its segment."
