Ford's S-Max multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) has been named the best MPV for the third consecutive year at the Auto Express New Car Awards.
Auto Express editor-in-chief David Johns praised the recently revamped model, hailing its "eye-catching interior, razor-sharp chassis and adaptable seven-seat cabin".
"A powerful new line-up of EcoBoost petrol engines and revised diesels, as well as an increase in cabin quality, has helped keep the Ford ahead of the game," he added.
Ford Fiesta, which was 'Auto Express Car of the Year' in 2009, was awarded the 'Best Supermini' title.
Jon Gunn-Smith, Ford large car product manager, said: "Ford S-Max's hat-track of wins at the Auto Express New Car Awards is testimony to a car which has redefined the Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment."
He said the award was substantiated by the car's sales, which stands currently at around 45,000 in the UK. He added that the latest model strengthens the driving quality of the vehicle with its 163PS 2.0-litre diesel engine returning almost 50mpg and 203PS 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
