Ford has pulled its advertising with the News Of The World amid allegations over Milly Dowler's phone being hacked.
The move from the firm came after it was alleged that a private investigator working for the paper hacked into the murdered schoolgirl's phone when she went missing.
Announcing the move, Ford said it planned to work instead with The Sun and other News International titles.
A spokesman suggested that Ford considers the reputation and behaviours of itself and firms it works with very carefully.
He added: "We are awaiting an outcome from the News Of The World investigation and expect a speedy and decisive response.
"Pending this response we will be using alternative media within and outside News International Group instead of placing Ford advertising in the News Of The World."
