Motorsport enthusiasts will be keen to get their hands on the first Subaru Impreza World Rally Car (WRC), which has gone up for sale on the Prodrive website priced at £85,000.
The car was first seen at the Rally Monte Carlo in 1997 and the chassis was subsequently used by Colin McRae, Pierro Liatti and Kenneth Erikkson.
For sale on the new website, which is dedicated to pre-owned Prodrive-built rally cars, the 1997 Impreza WRC with the chassis number PRO-WRC-97-001, was the first car built under the new WRC regulations.
In 1998 the car was rebuilt and sold to a Prodrive customer. McKinstry Motorsport in Ireland has fully restored the Impreza.
Also for sale on the site are seven other former works Impreza World Rally Cars, as well as 17 Prodrive Impreza Group Ns.
A 2005 Prodrive Impreza Group N is being sold for around £50,000 and an early 2008 specification Impreza WRC is going for nearly £350,000.
The website only features rally cars which were originally designed and manufactured by Prodrive to Federation Internationale de l'Automobile standards.
