Europe gets 40 Nissan GT-R supercars

There will be a limited edition of just 40 SpecV versions of Nissan's GT-R supercar released in Europe.

Orders for the hotly anticipated £124,900 motor are currently being taken at Nissan High Performance Centres (NHPCs), and will close on 22 January 2010.

The Japanese car maker says the limited run of 40 is a reference to 2009 marking the 40th anniversary of the very first Nissan to sport the GT-R badge.

Also reflecting its exclusivity, and in recognition of the car's indelible link with the Nordschleife circuit in Germany, the SpecV is only being displayed in Europe at the new Nissan Sports showroom in the new Nürburgring complex which was opened in July.

Incorporating the product enhancements recently announced for the standard 2010 model year GT-R, these changes are based around the SpecV's ability to brake later and harder, corner faster and accelerate sooner.

Externally, the SpecV is also equipped with lightweight, racing-style forged aluminium wheels.

The GT-R SpecV will only be available through two Nissan High Performance Centres in the UK - Middlehurst Motorsport GT-R, St Helens, Merseyside and West Way GT-R, Oxford.
