Environment Agency gets 'green' car

The Environment Agency is aiming to reduce its carbon footprint with the help of a new all-electric vehicle, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV.

The vehicle, which will be used by employees at the agency's office in Brampton, is the lowest priced pure-EV available in the country.

It is contract hired through Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, and is expected to help the agency cut CO2 emissions.

The i-MiEV's ultra-low running costs and additional finance packages make it a very strong eco-friendly proposition.

John Orr, environment manager at the Environment Agency, said: "This is a really exciting development and I am thrilled that the Environment Agency's first electric vehicle should be coming to Brampton."
