Bluebird Electric is aiming to set a new land speed record in the electric car category at Pendine Sands in Wales in August.
Don Wales, who is leading the team of Bluebird Electric, is hoping to beat his previous record of 139mph he set in August 2000.
At the same time, he is also aiming to beat the record of 175mph set by speed legend Sir Malcolm Cambell, Wales's grandfather, in 1927.
The event, which was to be held at a previous date, is now set to take place on August 13 and 14. It was delayed because a car part that was manufactured in Europe was not completed on time.
The ultimate aim of the team is to exceed 500mph in 2013, breaking the current world record that stands at 307.666mph.
