A new service will make it easier for drivers to use key DVLA online tools.
The DVLA has launched a BETA version of its online Vehicle Tax, Statutory Off-Road Notification (SORN) and Vehicle Enquiry services.
The new system, which is in line with GDS standards for digital services, changes how the services appear on screen. Navigation through them should be easier and faster while the information has been made easier to understand.
Visitors to the site can use the new version or the existing version, which will be taken out of service later this year. Customer feedback provided on the BETA screens will be used to make further improvements to the services.
For vehicle tax, there are no differences in the levels of service between the two versions, although initially the BETA version won't be able to accept American Express cards.
The DVLA said American Express will soon be allowed on the BETA version but until then, the existing version must be used when using that payment method.
