A motorist has been questioned after crashing his car on to the front lawn of former president George Bush's home near Dallas.
Bush and former first lady Laura, who were in their home when the unidentified man drove on to their property, were both unharmed, and there was no reported damage to the house, Ed Donovan, spokesman for the Secret Service, said.
US authorities detained the driver, who is said to have been visiting one of Bush's neighbours, for questioning but released him afterwards.
The former president and former first lady live in a home in a gated community in North Dallas.
David Sherzer, spokesman for the former president, said that while the couple were at home when the incident took place, they were never in danger.
Dallas police are investigating.
