Harlequins rugby player Danny Care has been dropped from the England Six Nations squad after being charged with drink-driving on New Year's Day.
The England player is facing a hike in hiscar insurance premiums after police stopped his car at Winchester Services on the M3 in the early hours of January 1.
This arrest is the scrum-half's second in three weeks, the player having previously been detained and fined for being drunk and disorderly in December 2011. After Care's first arrest, Harlequins' boss Conor O'Shea said: "Danny has apologised. It is a lesson he will learn. He won't make the same mistake again."
After his most recent arrest, Care issued a public apology to rugby fans: "I do understand the need for England players to be role models in the game and have tried to live to that at all times, but have made a couple of stupid decisions in the past weeks.
"I am devastated because my actions have let so many people down."
