Motorists in Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester should be made aware of potential delays around the M56 and M6 road near Runcorn next weekend because of a music festival.
Around 40,000 people will be arriving at Daresbury Estate, just off junction 11 of the M56, for the bank holiday weekend's annual Creamfields techno and house music event.
The Highways Agency said those attending the festival should exit the westbound M56 at junction 11 and follow the festival signposts. Electronic motorway signs will also be in use to guide festival-goers.
Other motorists should be aware that junctions 10, 11 and 12 of the M56 will be busy at certain points of the weekend, increasing the likelihood of drivers reaching for theirbreakdown cover policies. The M56's interchange with the M6 will also be busy at times.
Further motoring advice for those attending Creamfields will be on display on the approach to the venue.
