Honda has announced that its new two-wheel drive 1.6-litre diesel CR-V, with a 1.6-litre engine, will go on sale from £22,800.
The i-DTEC engine boasts 118bhp and produces 221lb.ft of torque, with 119g/km emission of CO2.
These attributes mean it will avoid liability for road tax for the first year, and should only cost £30 annually to tax after that.
The manual gearbox has six speeds and the model, built in Britain, performs at 62.8mpg, the equivalent of having a fuel tank range of roughly 800 miles.
Its three trim levels are S, SE and SR with the entry level diesel S costing £22,800 and boasting features including DAB Radio, dual-zone climate control, USB connectivity, and steering wheel remote audio controls.
The SE, priced at £24,660, features front and rear parking sensors and a rear view camera.
Topping off the range is the SR priced at £26,880. This has heated front seats and premium audio with subwoofer.
