Clapton's Ferrari to go on sale

A number of supercars, including a yellow 'Giallo Fly' Ferrari 575M Maranello which once belonged to rock guitarist Eric Clapton and was later owned by Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, are to go on sale at Silverstone Auctions on July 23.

The Italian supercar, which was delivered to Clapton in 2003, incorporates many features requested by the legendary guitarist.

The V12 Ferrari, with black 'Nero Daytona' leather, can reach over 200mph.

Some of the features include a semi-automatic F1 gearbox, a Fiorano handling kit, satnav, interior carbon fibre pack, yellow brake callipers, Scuderia windshield, a Tubi exhaust and hi-fi system with sub woofer.

Several Porsche cars will also go under the hammer during theSilverstone Classic race weekend at the Northamptonshire circuit.

These include: a 2010, 911 GT3 RS (Generation 2), which is one of only 35 cars officially imported into the UK's Porsche dealer network; a red 1968, 911; a black 1973, 911 S Targa; and a 1987 Porsche 924, 2.5 S.
