French manufacturer Citroen has confirmed it will run a special price promotion for its new C1 model.
The company's latest city car retails for £7,995 on the road but for a limited period customers will be able to purchase the entry-level C1 for £6,995 after Citroen announced a £1,000-off deal. The C1 will be available in three trim levels, the entry-level VT, the VTR and the VTR+.
All three share the same 67bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine that delivers a fuel efficient 65.7mpg and 99g/km of CO2. That means C1 owners will be road tax exempt and will avoid having to pay to drive into central London.
The three-door VTR will be available under Citroen's Elect 4 personal lease package, which will allow customers to finance the mid-range VTR for £99 per month. As part of the finance deal C1 drivers aged 21- 75 will also be eligible for a year's freecar insurance butbreakdown cover is not included.
The top of the range VTR+ model includes a robotised EGS gearbox perfect for drivers who prefer automatic transmissions. Priced at £10,545 with the automated gearbox and £10,045 without, the C1 VTR+, along with the other two models, will hit showrooms on 2 April.
