Chinese pick-up to be shown at NEC

Britons will soon be able to buy Chinese vehicles from the Great Wall Motor Company through a number of UK dealers.

The firm is a market leader for pick-ups and SUVs in China and will be the first Chinese car manufacturer to launch volume sales in Britain.

Great Wall has just launched a new Steed pick-up model that will be shown at the Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham's NEC.

The firm said the new model should appeal to people looking for something that is both good value for money and practical. With a price tag of £13,998 (CVOTR) for the S model, its claims are backed up.

It has a 2.0-litre diesel engine, six-speed gearbox and selectable-on-the-move two/four-wheel drive. It also has a lowcar insurance group for a pick-up and delivers when it comes to miles to the gallon.

The Steed can be seen in Hall 3A, Stand 70 at the CV Show next month. Great Wall has put 40 dealers in place across the UK to sell the Steed.

The CV show will take place between 24 and 26 April.
