Celebrities to race for charity

Several celebrities will line up on the grid this week to race for a cancer charity at the Silverstone Circuit.

The Silverstone Classic 'Celebrity Challenge' is set to raise funds for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

Specially trained for the event, the 14 celebrities will go head to head in 130mp Morgan Roadster lightweight race cars around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

Across the three days from July 22 to 24, the 2011 Silverstone Classic will hold many races.

Sports news presenter Vicky Gomersall and Sally Boazman, a traffic reporter, are set to make their racing debut in the Celebrity Challenge at the world's biggest classic car racing festival.

They will be joined by organics entrepreneur Jo Wood and model Zoe Cole and are hoping to outdo the boys at the race.

The celebrities are expecting to raise more funds than the last year's event, where over £25,000 was collected.
