A cab driver from London successfully helped deliver a passenger's baby in the back of his taxi.
Iain Coombes, 42, from Sidcup, south east London, had to turn midwife outside the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital when Ayse Sabuncu began to give birth.
The former city accountant had picked up heavily pregnant Ms Sabuncu, 37, and her fiance, Mathew Scutt, 32, who were travelling from the Wandsworth area of south London to the hospital for the birth of their first child.
Ms Sabuncu had realised the baby was already on its way, while crossing Chelsea bridge.
So once outside the hospital, Mr Scutt, a software consultant, ran in to fetch help only to return moments later with doctors to find the mother cradling the baby in her arms.
Mr Coombes said: "I've had many experiences as an Addison Lee driver, but nothing like this.
"I'm just glad everything went OK."
Emre Arthur Scutt, born a week early, weighed 6lb 7oz.
